Nanyang Primary School in Singapore represents a learning community that is as vibrant on the inside as its fanciful colors on the outside. Their Makerspace was originally designed mostly for robotics and computer-driven activities. NYPS wanted to provide a more playful place that supported a STEAM approach to learning and creating. I was asked to reuse, redesign, and reorganize the space, while being respectful of the school budget.

Scouts from Raffles Institution, a top Singapore school, challenged their creativity with Coding + Making while exploring endangered World Wildlife species. I teamed up with coding education provider Tinkercademy to provide four STEAM hands-on Micro:bit coding and making workshops to fifty-two fabulous Scouts. This experience was a perfect trans-disciplinary blend of conceptual learning, engaging practical skills, inspiring creativity, collaborative soft skills, and sharing.

Once again, I was asked to join in on another Akadasia international webinar. Akadasia, founded in 2019, was a Singapore-based mission-driven education technology company whose goal was to Empower Educators Everywhere. They provided Professional Development by connecting a global community of Educators.

At the beginning of 2021, I began my Maker-in-Residence journey at Invictus International School in Singapore. Unlike the large Makerspace at Nanyang Girls' High School I grew over three years, at Invictus, I was tasked with transforming a small classroom into a Makerspace. Sometimes it's not about the size of the space but the intention of quality you bring to the experience. Without fancy tools and technology, somehow there was lots of playful brainstorming, prototyping and hands-on learning and making!

During Singapore school semester breaks and vacations, I decided to create my own semi-private STEAM Tinkering camps. During the week, Campers dove into making cool art, to mechanical crank toys, pop up books and circuitry using copper tape and LED lights! I had as much fun as they did.

The Singapore government agency Infocomm Media Development Authority leads the way in Singapore as a resource for everyone on the Island to help expand their understanding and use of technology. They have become a valuable resource to businesses and the medical community, as well as schools and senior citizens who just want to have fun with technology. Every year before COVID, IMDA always held a huge in-person Technology exposition. Evolving over the years, participating exhibitors represented diverse innovative technology that touched all aspects of life for any age.

During COVID, when there were no in-person gatherings permitted, IMDA decided to offer an online Tech Expo called, SG Digital Wonderland and asked me to create interactive fun for families. I created and led, through Zoom, an iPad-based Intro to Augmented Reality workshop that included parent-child bonding as well. To encourage continued learning on their own, I also custom-developed and gave participants an e-book guide to use as a reference after the workshop.

During COVID, Roboto Coding Academy switched from an in-person student Hackathon to an online Zoom event. I was invited as Keynote Speaker to kick off the whole event with sharing opening remarks.
